Lisa Perruzza is a Brisbane-based contemporary artist known for her vibrant colour, expressive brushwork and uplifting interpretations of landscape, travel and place.
Born and raised in England’s Lake District, Lisa’s connection to art began in childhood and continued through formal studies at Cumbria College of Art and Design before moving to Australia in 2004.
Travel is at the heart of Lisa’s practice. From the Australian coastline, outback and tropical gardens to the landscapes and cultures she encounters around the world, Lisa transforms fleeting moments into bold, contemporary paintings. Her work is less about depicting a place literally and more about capturing the memory, emotion and feeling of being there — the light, colour, energy and atmosphere that stay with you long after you’ve left.
Working intuitively with acrylic, ink, oil, and mixed media, Lisa layers colour, texture and loose gestural marks to create paintings that are vibrant, sophisticated and full of movement.
Her work has been exhibited to sold-out audiences and is collected internationally across Australia, Europe, Asia and the United States.
